About the project
Hello ARMY!We are reaching out with an exciting project to celebrate j-hope's outstanding 2022, his many achievements and his birthday. Hobi’s songs are always full of meaning and messages that touch people’s hearts. “= (Equal Sign)” in particular seems to resonate with people all over the world, connecting us all despite our differences. This project will build on the message of inclusivity, equality and self-examination within this song. And, give back to the artist, our beloved j-hope, the same positive energy and unwavering optimism so profound in “= (Equal Sign)”.In “= (Equal Sign)”, Hobi lists various things that often divide people, one of them being borders. He has mentioned that he sang the chorus of the song in English, which is not his first language, to further show the message of equality. During Hobipalooza, he asked us to listen to his story despite us speaking different languages. This is why this project aims to show that we are all equal, even if we come from different countries and speak different languages. We hope to create a video of Army singing “= (Equal Sign)” in their native languages to show that there is no barrier in music and we are all one and the same. Our world is in constant flux. But, it remains that we are a community strong and proud and we stand tall for those we love dearly.Let's seize this opportunity and let's create something together. Let's show Hobi what an impact his music has made. Let's show Hobi that his music brings people together! We hope you will join us! If you’re interested, please read the information on the "More info" subpage and sign up!Once it's ready, the multilingual version of "= (Equal Sign)" will be posted on our social media.LET’S COME TOGETHER!
EQUALITY IS YOU AND ME!
Details
We’re going to create a multilingual version of “= (Equal Sign)”. People from different countries will sing the song in different languages, and our editors will cut the recordings and put them all together, so that each participant sings more of less one line from the song (the exact length depends on the number of participants). Sounds fun? Sign up!We are looking for participants from as many countries as possible. If you’re interested, please fill in the sign up form.IMPORTANT:
You don’t need to be a legal adult to participate. However, if you’re a minor, we’ll need you to send us a scan or photo of a parental consent (written in English) signed by your legal guardian. It should include your guardian’s consent to your image and voice recordings being used in this project and shared on various social media. If you’re a legal adult, by sending us a recording, you agree for us to use it in the project and publish it on various social media. This is a fan-made project, and we do not make any profit on it. It is purely meant to show our appreciation to the original artist, j-hope.
What should you do?

What should you do?1) TRANSLATE THE SONG INTO YOUR NATIVE LANGUAGE
You don’t have to translate the whole song, only the part from “Hate'll paralyze your mind” all the way through to “So I'm singing for love in this world”.We’re going to use only one fragment of the recording you send us, so the verses in the translated version don’t have to rhyme or sound well together. However, they should fit in with the rhythm, as much as possible.
Please send us the translated text in a file.2) RECORD YOURSELF
Record yourself singing the entire translated part in your native language, and the ending of the song in English. There can be other people singing with you.
If it’s possible, please hold
the FLAG OF YOUR COUNTRY to show where you’re from, as this project focuses on us being equal despite coming from different countries. That’s it! We’ll take care of the rest!
Recording requirements

IMPORTANT: You need to sing in tune and with the correct speed. You can have the instrumental version of the song playing in an earphone to guide you, or play an instrumental version really quietly so that it’s not too audible in the recording.
If you send us a recording that doesn’t meet the requirements, you might be asked to record another one within a specified period of time.
